Who is Who?

So, I (Josh) really think that Joslyn looks a lot like her sister Avery did when she was first born. So I decided to look back at some of her pictures to see if I remember correctly. While doing that, I found this picture combination, one of each girl. See if you can tell who is who:

Announcing Baby Joslyn!

Yesterday we were blessed with the arrival of our new baby girl, Joslyn Marie Caplin. She was born at 12:08 p.m., weighed 7 lbs 5 oz, and was 19.5 inches long. Everything has gone well so far for the whole family. Here are a few pictures of baby Joslyn:

Fun Times

I can't believe that it's March already! I have less than 3 weeks until the baby is due! Thankfully I was able to get the things done that I wanted to by the beginning of March so I could have a fun and relaxing time before the baby comes. Avery and I have been doing lots of fun things together. Last week we went to story time at the library, 3 days in a row! Every time I asked Avery what she wanted to do, that's what she wanted. She loves all the songs they sing and being around the other kids. We've been to the park a few times, made cookies, and just today we painted our toenails!

Avery wanted to see the temple again, so on Sunday Josh and I took her to see it. She got to touch it again!

This was an exciting part for her because each night before bed we read a story about Jesus, from the Gospel Art Kit, and more recently she has been learning about Angel Moroni.

Avery loves the fountains at the temple. She would put her hand in and then run around laughing and giggling and then do it again. It's fun to see her get so excited about the temple.

A couple of weeks ago I got pretty sick. I had a sinus infection and bronchitis. The doctor wanted me to see if I could get rid of it without antibiotics, since I'm pregnant, but it didn't work. So I wasn't able to do much for a few days, but Avery and I made the most of it. One night we had a movie night. Avery and Josh went to pick out a movie, I made sandwiches, and we had a picnic while we watched the movie. Josh decided to make it more fun for us by building us a tent.

Our stake had a Valentine's Dance the Friday before Valentines. Pierce, a boy in our ward, asked Avery to dance. They stared at each other and danced the whole song. It was so sweet. I was really sad I didn't have a camera to take a picture of Avery and her first dance, but another girl thought it was so cute and took a picture. She was really nice and sent us a copy.

February Fun!

Avery and I decided to take a Mom and Me swim class. It was so fun! We went 2 times a week for 3 weeks. Avery learned how to blow bubbles, kick her legs in the water, hold onto the side of the pool, climb out of the pool, jump into the pool and go under the water! She loved all of it, expect when they had her try floating on her back. Every time I got our swim suits out Avery would yell, "Swimming Class!!!" She loved the water! Now she gets even more excited for bathtime and practices some of the things she learned at swim class. We loved it so much we are actually going to do it again at the beginning of March!

I got out the baby car seat the other day so I could wash it. As soon as I got it down this is what happened, Avery jumped in. She wanted me to rock her in it and sing Rock-A-Bye Baby over and over again.

Avery stopped using a binky about 3 weeks ago, and to make up for no binky she likes for Josh and I to sing to her before bed. She usually wants us to sing "I love to See the Temple" over and over. One night I asked her if she wanted to go see the temple and she got really excited. The next evening Josh and I took her to see it. She even got to touch it! She was so happy! Every time we drive past the temple she gets excited and says, "Big temple!".

A couple of Saturdays back I had a Relief Society activity to go to so Josh decided to take Avery to the Bean Museum. She got to see a real snake! They let her touch it and it even gave her snake kisses! Josh said Avery wasn't even scared at all. I'm glad he was there with her because I am terrified of snakes!

For the long holiday weekend we went down to St. George. We had a very nice relaxing visit. We didn't get any pictures other than this one of us driving down. I love to see her smile.

January Activities

I didn't realize how long it has been since I last posted anything to our blog! We got busy with Christmas activities, a long vacation, school starting again, and a little bit of being sick. Shortly after we got home from vacation Avery got a cold, with a really bad cough. We went out a little bit, but mostly just played at home. Avery got a movie, Fox and the Hound, from her Grandma and Grandpa Caplin and enjoyed watching it over and over again during the days she was sick. Here is Avery and Josh watching it together. (This was Josh's favorite Disney movie when he was a kid.)

This past weekend we enjoyed spending a lot of time together as a family! We went on walks together, had breakfast from Einstein Bagels, went to a BYU basketball game, and did some birthday shopping for Josh. (I know his birthday is at the end of March, but I want to have his and Avery's birthday shopping done early. Their birthdays are just so close to when I am due that I don't want to wait and then not have something for them because I had the baby. I want to enjoy shopping for their birthdays and if I leave it til the end it will just be more stressful. I want to make sure they have nice birthdays no matter when the baby comes. My goal is to get all that I want to have done done by the beginning of March. I am sure the baby will not come that early, but I will feel so much better if I can get it done by then. That will also allow me to make sure I am spending good quality time with Avery and Josh before the baby comes!)

Avery and I started making bread again with Emily and Maddie. After I told Avery that we were going to Maddie's she kept talking about Maddie and Emily. Josh also reminded her that she needs to share with Maddie when she's over at their house. After that Avery kept saying "Avery share Maddie" the whole way to their house. It was so cute to hear her say it over and over. When we left their house she started to repeat it again. I asked if she shared with Maddie and she said "Uh huh", which means yes for Avery, and she did! Avery and Maddie had a lot of fun playing and they shared really well too!

They sure do have lots of fun together! Thanks Emily and Maddie for letting us come play each week!

Temple Square

The day after Thanksgiving we went with my parents to temple square to see the lights turn on for the first time this year. We had such a fun time! Avery liked to be near "Grandma and Pa". They are two of her very best friends!

Putting pictures of myself with my growing belly is not something I am excited to do. I have been receiving requests to put one on here, so here it is. I am 23 weeks now! I am getting anxious to meet our little girl. I have been feeling her move some more now and that makes the experience of being pregnant that much sweeter!

It's a...

I had my 20 week ultra sound today. They said that everything looks normal and that the baby is developing great. They did a few measurements and based on those measurements they estimate that my due date should be April 6th. They said unless it's a 10 day difference they won't change the due date. My due date is March 29th so that is only a 8 day difference so they aren't going to change it, but at least I won't be too worried if I end up going past my due date. We also got to find out what we are having. We are having another girl!!! We are so excited. I was secretly hoping for another girl. We already bought them a matching outfit!
