It's a...

I had my 20 week ultra sound today. They said that everything looks normal and that the baby is developing great. They did a few measurements and based on those measurements they estimate that my due date should be April 6th. They said unless it's a 10 day difference they won't change the due date. My due date is March 29th so that is only a 8 day difference so they aren't going to change it, but at least I won't be too worried if I end up going past my due date. We also got to find out what we are having. We are having another girl!!! We are so excited. I was secretly hoping for another girl. We already bought them a matching outfit!

Here are a couple of fun pictures of Avery too! She is excited to have a sister and when we ask her what we should name her she says, "Abby".

Halloween Fun

The day before Halloween we had two Halloween parties to go to. We were asked to bring a treat to share for each one. So Avery and I, with help from Josh too, made graveyard cakes. Avery helped sprinkle stuff on and enjoyed eating some of the toppings too!

Avery and I have a lot of fun baking together! Here is the finished product.

On Halloween we stopped and trick or treated at my parents first. After that we headed to Angie's and had dinner and went trick or treating.

Avery liked the idea of trick or treating. After just two houses she stopped and sat down and started to eat her candy. We told her if she keeps walking she can get more candy and with that she got up and kept walking.

Just Some Fun Pics

So my friend Rebecca told me about this old wives tale to tell if you are having a boy or a girl. You make a white or yellow cake and half of it is blue and half of it is pink. You then frost it and the husband spins the cake and the wife cuts the first piece. If it's pink you will have a girl and if it's blue a boy. She said it is accurate about 9 times out of 10. Josh felt like having cake recently so I took the opportunity to add food coloring and find out. I did a round cake but in each pan I did half blue and half pink and then when I put them on top of each other I made sure all the pink was on one side, both layers, and same with the blue. This is what I got!

What does this mean? I was expecting an answer! Josh then cut a piece in a different spot and he got the same thing. Paige was there and she cut a piece in a different spot and the same. I get to find out in about 3 1/2 weeks what it is. What do you think? P.S. the doctor is pretty positive it's only one, so it doesn't mean twins.

Emily and Maddy took us to the zoo last week. Thanks! We had so much fun. I think that Avery really liked seeing the giraffes and the bears.

Not long after leaving the zoo.

This is actually a calculator!

Baby News!

Well, I made it through my first trimester! I had a doctors appointment last week and got to hear the baby's heartbeat. That is such a sweet sound. It finally feels real. Avery is going to be a great big sister. She loves babies! I think Avery hopes it's twins!

Fun Times!

We made it back from Texas! We had a great time and we are so thankful that Ben and Allison let us stay with them! Thanks! Josh got a job offer so we will be moving back next summer. We have been getting settled back in at home and keeping busy with fun activities, which is why there hasn't been a post for awhile. One of the most recent activities is hanging out with Josh's family for Labor Day weekend. We started out by having a picnic at the park.

Grandpa and the kids found a fun bench on our little walk.

Avery loves to go down the slide! It is her favorite thing to do at the park. She usually tries the swing once while were there, but she immediately asks to get down. I don't think she likes the motion.

In Texas we went swimming all the time! It gets so hot that you have to. (Of course we don't mind.) When we got back to Provo we realized that there aren't many places to go swimming. Thankfully Emily and Maddy have a pool and invite us to swim a few times a week.

We really missed the mountains in Texas so we want to take advantage of them while we have them so close. We went up for dinner and smores with Nate and Emily. We had a good time but didn't take many pictures.

On our way home from Texas we stopped in St. George for a few days to visit Josh's family. We got to go out on the boat. Avery loved to drive, and she's a good driver, with "Pa's" help of course. (Avery calls all of her grandparents "Pa". It doesn't matter if it's grandma!)
When Avery was in the boat she kept wanting to get in the water. She got in and didn't like it at first because it was colder than she expected. Once she warmed up she liked it better.

Avery even got to ride on the tube with Dad! She did great!

We were only on the lake for a few hours but she couldn't last. She even slept until 10:15 the next morning. She just had too much fun!
