Fun Times!

We made it back from Texas! We had a great time and we are so thankful that Ben and Allison let us stay with them! Thanks! Josh got a job offer so we will be moving back next summer. We have been getting settled back in at home and keeping busy with fun activities, which is why there hasn't been a post for awhile. One of the most recent activities is hanging out with Josh's family for Labor Day weekend. We started out by having a picnic at the park.

Avery loves to go down the slide! It is her favorite thing to do at the park. She usually tries the swing once while were there, but she immediately asks to get down. I don't think she likes the motion.

In Texas we went swimming all the time! It gets so hot that you have to. (Of course we don't mind.) When we got back to Provo we realized that there aren't many places to go swimming. Thankfully Emily and Maddy have a pool and invite us to swim a few times a week.

We really missed the mountains in Texas so we want to take advantage of them while we have them so close. We went up for dinner and smores with Nate and Emily. We had a good time but didn't take many pictures.

On our way home from Texas we stopped in St. George for a few days to visit Josh's family. We got to go out on the boat. Avery loved to drive, and she's a good driver, with "Pa's" help of course. (Avery calls all of her grandparents "Pa". It doesn't matter if it's grandma!)

When Avery was in the boat she kept wanting to get in the water. She got in and didn't like it at first because it was colder than she expected. Once she warmed up she liked it better.

Avery even got to ride on the tube with Dad! She did great!


We were only on the lake for a few hours but she couldn't last. She even slept until 10:15 the next morning. She just had too much fun!

Fun in Texas!

We have been having a great time in Texas! While Josh is at work, Avery and I keep ourselves busy by keeping cool at the pool, playing with friends, and going on errands. We keep pretty busy on the weekends and evenings doing some "touristy" things with Josh.

Avery really liked the parade, she got to sit in her stroller and have people come up and hand her candy and other fun toys.

We went to the Dallas Zoo on Thursday. Avery wasn't scared of anything except this fake turtle.


As we were leaving the zoo with our friends Avery and the other kids fell asleep. We thought it looked cute so we decided to take a picture. A radio station was nearby and thought it was so cute that they ran and grabbed their camera to take a picture. They said they'd be posting it to their website.

Avery liked petting the horse. The horse kept liking its lips. Afterwards, this is what Avery kept doing...

Trip to Manhattan Beach

For an early birthday present Josh took us to Manhattan Beach! It was a memorable family vacation. Our first day there we went to the beach. Avery didn't like the water too much. I think the waves scared her a bit, they were big and noisy. She did like to sit and play in the sand and bird watch.

Avery loved the pier. She liked watching the waves from up above. She would run from side to side and peak over. The surfers would wave to her sometimes and that made her smile. Avery made a few little friends while there too!

On Saturday we went to the LA temple. It's a big temple! Avery watched us smell the flowers and wanted to do it too. We were only able to get one good picture and this one she actually fell into the flower and ended up with pollen on her face!

We also went to Rodeo Drive and to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We don't have pictures of Rodeo Drive, but we sure did see a lot of nice things. Among Josh's favorites were the 2 Rolls Royces, a Ferrari, a Mazerati and other fancy cars that I don't know how to spell.

We finally made it to Texas! We love Texas and have really enjoyed it. It is so pretty and green. It is humid and warm, but we don't mind the heat too much so it's not really a bother. One of my favorite things about Texas is the accent! Everyone that I have talked to has one.

We decided to take three days in hopes to make it more enjoyable for everyone. Avery did great! She was better than most adults. She didn't sleep as much as she normally does but she was still very happy.

When we crossed the Colorado River we decided to stop and take a look over the bridge. Avery loved it! The first thing she wanted to do was throw her binki over. We had to take it from her because there were signs everywhere saying that thrown objects can kill!

We don't have pictures of Texas yet, but they will be coming.

Our Stop in St. George

On our way to Texas we stopped in St. George for a few days to visit Josh's family. We went to a splash pad close by and Avery loved it. She had so much fun in it and didn't want to get out.
